Robert Boughton is the Group Managing Director of Thakeham, who are a West Sussex based house builder delivering aspirational and high quality residential schemes across the South East.
Thakeham Group are two companies; Thakeham Homes and Thakeham Client, being three businesses. We are a strategic land promoter, a house builder, and a partnership/contract builder.
Thakeham have one of the largest strategic land holdings in the South East with major development opportunities in Lewes, Guildford, Tandridge, Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead, Waverley, Horsham, Mid Sussex, Surrey Heath, Hart, Eastleigh, Woking among others areas. Thakeham are promoting a wide variety of sites across these local planning authorities with notable sites including 500 units at Fleet, 500 units at Guildford, 550 units at Eastleigh 600 units at Pease Pottage, 1700 units in Burgess Hill and a 6,000 unit scheme at Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey, as well as many other smaller village and town schemes of between 25 and 500 units.
The main aim of the strategic land arm is to enable the delivery of Thakeham’s house building operation. Our infrastructure lead schemes see us delivering primary schools, doctors surgeries, hospices and enhancing regional hospitals. We are improving major road junction’s and delivering new link roads as we build upon local characteristics and opportunities to create homes that reflect the living styles of the existing communities, whilst addressing local housing need and demand by incorporating a mix of house sizes, styles and tenures.
At Thakeham the design and master planning are key to ensuring the best quality developments, this extends through the delivery process ensuring that the product has industry leasing levels of customer satisfaction where the absolute emphasis is on quality.
Thakeham Client is our partnership/contracting arm working with a wide range of clients including Housing Associations, Local Authorities and other property investment companies. The range of current projects include private residential and affordable housing, commercial and retail with project values from £5m and £40m.
We pride ourselves on helping our partners grow with us, we sponsor Thakeham’s Talent for Development a scheme to introduce college students, armed forces leavers to all aspects of the construction industry.
